I’ve had my ‘I’ve had it’ moment

Hi everyone!

I’m new to this website and blogging.  So please bear with me if I make any mistakes.  :-)

I’ve been reading Tales from the Scales (by Erin Shea) and was reading about peoples ‘I’ve had it’ moment, and I thought I would write about mine.

About a week and half ago there was an emergency at the secondary school I work in.  My colleague Sarah is the first aider and she went to respond then we had more kids coming to the office saying how bad the situation was so I decided to run over to see if they needed assistance.

Run? HA!   It was more like lumber.  I was trying to dash from one end of the school to another hauling around all 16 stone 10lbs of me.  At the time, I managed to get around but afterwards when I sat down….man!

My legs killed me.

My lungs felt like they were going to burst.

I was so disgusted, embarrased and fed up with myself that I went to the ladies toilets and sobbed for about 5 mins.

That night when I got home, I resolved that I absolutely MUST do something about my weight.  But this time, I was going to do it right.  No crash diets, no starvation (though I did think about both.)  I went online and started working with my Weight Watchers online account.  I have a shelf for my treats in the food pantry.  I’m looking to fit in activity wherever I can.

I know I’m not going to get to my goal weight overnight and I know that it’s going to take awhile but I HAVE to do this. - for me and my family.

When did you have your ‘I’ve Had It’ moment?
